Downloadable multiplayer shooter Battlefield 1943 is now available for purchase through Xbox Live. The 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) game allows you to battle it out in the Pacific theater of World War II with up to 23 other players.

Xbox Live also offers a free trial version on Xbox Live that allows you to play one of the game's maps and try out all of the vehicles and weapons. The full version comes with four maps inspired by Battlefield 1942 locales: Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Coral Sea. Coral Sea, as was previously mentioned, must be unlocked by the community.

The PS3 version of BF 1943 will arrive tomorrow. The trial version is available through PSN as well. PC users, meanwhile, will have to wait until September to get their hands on the game.
