DICE's Battlefield 1943 will be released through PSN and Xbox Live on June, according to an announcement sent out by the developer today. PC owners will have to wait a bit longer, unfortunately.

The game will hit the PC in September. The press release also mentions that the price will be 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) - of course, if you're a regular Blend Games reader, you've known that for a couple months already. It's still not known whether the PC version will be a digital-only release or whether there will be boxed copies.

BF 1943 is a multiplayer-only World War II shooter that utilizes the Frostbite Engine of Battlefield: Bad Company to enable destructive environments. It has three Pacific Theater maps inspired by Battlefield 1942 locations and allows battles for up to 24 players at a time.
