The new trailer for Battlefield 1943 takes us on a tour of Iwo Jima, one of the three famous battle sites that will appear in the downloadable shooter. It looks a lot more inviting than it probably did back in 1943.
BF 1943 is powered by the Frostbite Engine from Battlefield: Bad Company which means (among other things) that the environments are destructible. Though the scope of the game is limited by the fact that it's a PSN/XBLA game - only three maps, one game mode (Conquest) - it seems like it's a full-fledged multiplayer shooter within those confines.
The game will be released through PSN and Xbox Live in June for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). PC gamers will have to wait until September.
