Battlefield 3 Armored Kill DLC Releasing Throughout September

The world of Battlefield 3 is set to expand next month with the latest expansion, Armored Kill, set to release throughout the month of September. “Throughout the month?” you may be asking. Well, when you'll be getting your hands on the new content will depend upon your platform of choice and status (Normal/Premium).

Battlefield 3 Premium members on the PlayStation 3 will get first crack at the four new maps and additional vehicles and gear come Sept. 4, according to the game's official website. Premium members on the Xbox 360 will be able to play the Armored Kill expansion on Sept. 11. Normal Battlefield 3 players on the PS3 will be let in on Sept. 18, with normal players on Xbox and the PC finally being let in on Sept. 25.

Battlefield has always been about massive maps and explosive vehicular combat. When the series abandoned that M.O. for the tightly packed Close Quarters DLC a few months ago, it left quite a few fans underwhelmed. The new maps were nice and all, but the smaller structures and contained spaces turned the Battlefield experience into something more akin to what you would expect out of Call of Duty.

Armored Kill, on the other hand, will be returning to the Battlefield formula in a big way. If you don't already subscribe to the Premium service for $49.99, you can expect to be plopping down $14.99 for four new massive maps, new vehicles, more than 20 new vehicle unlocks, new gear, and a new Tank Superiority mode.
