Battlefield 3: Armored Kill Video, Screenshots Climb Alborz Mountain

DICE has released new assets related to Battlefield 3's expansion Armored Kill. The new fly-through video and screenshots take us on a tour of Alborz Mountain, one of four maps included in the DLC.

Armored Kill is designed primarily toward vehicle combat. Each of the maps is huge as a result. DICE wanted to make sure that these maps were as detailed as possible as well.

"With Armored Kill having a strong focus on the environment, we wanted to truly hand craft each and every square inch of their kilometres of natural landscape for players to explore," said DICE Senior Environment Artist Andrew Hamilton on the Battlefield Blog.

Alborz Mountain has hundreds of thousands of objects strewn about its surface, including grass, trash and sticks. Fog and snow in the air will get thicker as you ascend the mountain. Birds live throughout the map and will scatter when they hear explosions or other noise. Sound is also a key component of the experience, with trees swaying, ice cracking, and so forth.

Armored Kill will arrive later this month. The exact release date varies depending on whether you're a PS3 owner and whether you've signed up for Battlefield 3 Premium.
