A new patch went live on the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 today. This patch brought, among other things, a new rent-a-server feature. A new video explains just how you can rent your own multiplayer server.

The rent-a-server feature is accessible right from the game's main menu. DICE offers both short-term and long-term rentals:
  • One day: $1.49
  • One week: $6.99
  • One month: $24.99
  • 90 days: $64.99
Players can pick the map and mode rotation for their server and also specify all of the rules. Friendly fire, team balancing, vehicles and regenerative health are just a few of the settings that you can toggle on or off. You can also set your server to public or private and ban users as needed.

The rent-a-server feature went live on the PS3 last week. The accompanying patch, now live on consoles and the PC, makes a huge number of balance and bug fixes.
