Battlefield 4 Naval Strike Delayed On PC
Today the Battlefield 4 expansion Naval Strike will make its debut on multiple platforms for Premium members.. However, the PC won't be one of those platforms. DICE has decided to delay the new content for PC due to an unknown bug.
"We are delaying the launch of Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC," DICE said on the Battlefield Blog. "We’ve detected an issue and it needs to be solved. Quality is our number one priority and we will not release Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC until we feel it meets the highest quality level possible. Once we have a confirmed date for PC, we’ll be sure to update those players on our official channels. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing everyone on the Battlefield."
This is just the latest headache that BF4 players have had to endure. The game's launch was marred by server issues, forcing DICE to put all DLC on hold for a period of time. The team ended up giving away in-game loot to players for a full month as an apology.
Naval Strike, the third expansion for BF4, adds a Carrier Assault game mode. Carrier Assault, inspired by Titan mode from Battlefield 2142, tasks two teams with capturing missile silos and using them to crack the hull of the enemy's flagship. They can then assault the ship with infantry and blow it up from the inside or maintain control of the silos and slowly wear the ship down.
The expansion will also introduce four maps that place an emphasis on naval warfare:
Additionally, Players can earn new gear for their kits. They can earn five weapons and two gadgets through the ten new assignments. The new weapons include the SR-2 submachine gun and SW40 revolver.
The expansion will be rolled out to PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 over the course of the day.
