Last year's Battlefield: Bad Company had promos making fun of fellow action games Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid but the debut trailer for Bad Company 2 plays it straight.

The first game was an off-beat story about a soldiers stealing gold from a warzone and the sequel is likely a continuation of the storyline but you wouldn't know it from this trailer. It's just a few stylized shots of tanks trading fire and other generic war stuff like that. There's no gameplay footage or anything.

Bad Company 2 will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC this winter. It's one of three Battlefield games on the way, the other two being microtransaction-supported Battlefield Heroes and the downloadable Battlefield 1943.
