Vivendi Universal, Auran Games and NBC are teaming up to bring gamers – or fans of the television series who happen to be gamers – a casual experience of the hit sensation, Battlestar Galactica for Xbox Live and PC. And even though the release date is sketchy, there has been confirmation that gamers will get their hands on it this year.
But let’s face it...whether you’re a BSG fan or not, you have to admit that dogfighting in space will rock hard on Xbox Live. And as reported by CVG, the game is apparently coming along far enough to reach its suggested autumn release. Details, however, regarding specifics of the gameplay are still sketchy. But Bill Kispert commented that “We wanted to bring a more intense combat experience to gamers. From a story standpoint, fans will be able to relive key battles from the first two seasons of the show, and then we’ll add new content and missions outside of that” With a 50 meg limit as an Xbox Live title the game is going to be rather limited in its presentation qualities. Still, so long as the ships are modeled in 3D and the explosions look jazzy I don’t think anyone could be too disappointed. Whether the PC version will be a “real” game or a casual title hasn’t been disclosed yet, either. But you can check out the Official Xbox Live Website for further details and information regarding some of the latest and upcoming titles for Xbox Live Arcade. |
