Yep, more iPhone gaming news coming your way, following on the Element debut trailer. This time the news is about the award winning point-and-click adventure that marked the end of the sprite-oriented adventure era and the announcement that it’s coming to the iPhone.

Dave Gibbon’s Beneath A Steel Sky is being re-mastered for iPhone and iPod Touch. And according to the press release, Charles Cecil, MD, Revolution Software commented, saying…

“Beneath a Steel Sky was the title that put Revolution Software on the global map, and we’re delighted to be able to bring the game to an entirely new audience,” …. “Revisiting the game after all these years has enabled us to rediscover it anew, and the fact it remains as absorbing as ever is a testament to the team’s original design and vision.

The game is the first of the Revolution Pocket division and isn’t a bad way to bring classics to the new handheld devices.

Beneath A Steel Sky is due out on October 9th for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game will retail for $4.99 at the Apple App Store.
