BioShock Infinite Announced, Trailer And Screenshots Released
Irrational Games, the studio behind the first BioShock game, revealed its next project today. BioShock Infinite is an all-new story powered by a new game engine.
Infinite is not set in the underwater city of Rapture. Instead, it takes place on a floating city called Columbia in the year 1912. The city, constructed by the United States, goes missing in the clouds. The main character of the game is Booker DeWitt, a former Pinkerton (private security) agent trying to rescue a woman from Columbia.
Combat for the game takes place inside and outside of Columbia. You'll fight opponents in the clouds in what the press release calls "high-speed Sky-Line battles." Players will have dozens of weapons and abilities at their disposal.
BioShock Infinite will be released during the 2012 calendar year. The first trailer and screenshots are below. The end of the trailer indicates that PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions are in development.
