Bioshock, Modern Warfare 3 Headline Tomorrow's PSN Update
This week's batch of releases on the PlayStation Network should come as a pleasant surprise for FPS fans with a little something old and a little something new. The original and brilliant Bioshock hits virtual shelves alongside the not-as-original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Given the hubbub about current U.S. presidential hopefuls and their fondness for novelist Ayn Rand, it seems oddly appropriate that the Randian Dystopia of Bioshock's Rapture will be a possible destination for virtual shoppers on PSN. You can find out all about the rise and fall of Andrew Ryan and his doomed underwater city of high thinkers starting tomorrow afternoon.
If you prefer your targets to be terrorists rather than deranged, super-powered New Year's Eve party-goers, your tripper finger may be more inclined to get twitchy all over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 instead. An evil Russian dude is thiiis close to kicking off World War III, and your job is to make sure that doesn't happen. It's a plot that would be right at home in any 1980's action flick only, instead of watching Swarzenegger take out the baddies, you and your fellow crack-shot soldiers are sent in to get the job done.
If that's still not enough shooting for you, then you can also dive into the digital release of The House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut, the Move infused on-rails shooter that let's you put an untold number of bullets into the faces of countless zombies.
But it's not all about heaping helpings of violence in this week's PSN update. You'll also be able to download Zen Pinball 2 to enjoy a couple dozen pin tables, as well as the PlayStation 2 “classic,” Suzuki TT Superbikes: Real Road Racing Championship.
