Perfect World Entertainment announced beta details for first-person shooter Blacklight Retribution today. Testing for the Blacklight: Tango Down sequel will begin in November.

The beta officially launches on November 10th. A select group of players will be able to jump into the beta on that day. However, developer Zombie Studios plans to add more players in waves in subsequent weeks.

"The development of Blacklight Retribution has been a hard earned labor of love and after receiving praise from both fans and media, we're confident that our work will pay off," said Jared Gerritzen, Zombie Studios creative director. "Closed beta is another step towards a game that we know people will have a great time playing."

While Tango Down was released on the PC and consoles, Retribution is exclusive to the PC. It's built on Unreal Engine 3 and will support Direct X 11. It'll be free-to-play and presumably bolstered by microtransactions.

"We've been looking forward to getting Blacklight Retribution into the hands of gamers, so we're excited to open the game up to thousands of players," stated Andrew Brown, Executive Producer for Perfect World Entertainment. "We are confident that many gamers out there will be pleased and will finally have a real first person shooter experience in a F2P environment."

The full version of Retribution is slated to launch in 2012.
