Blitz: The League II Blitzes Into StoresAuthor: William Usher

The game that is redefining tackle football is now shipping to a retailer near you. The game features some of the most outrageous things you will ever see performed on a football field, and without the NFL holding back Midway from going full-Blitz, you can expect any and everything out of Blitz: The League II.
With Lawrence Taylor playing the head-honcho of the fictional New York Nightmare, Frank Caliendo lending his voice as color commentary and Jay Mohr playing an over-the-top agent, there’s no shortage of brutal entertainment and cruel laughs. The game’s late-hit system also comes back full-swing, falling into the “brutal entertainment” category, by allowing players to perform unholy beatdowns on their opponents. "Without the typical restrictions associated with the 'No Fun League,' Blitz: The League II is able to offer up an entirely new treatment of pro football, touching on topics otherwise considered taboo," said Miguel Iribarren, senior vice president - publishing, Midway. "Lawrence Taylor returns as our cover athlete, and he's the perfect symbol of the grittier, real-life side of football that only a title like Blitz: The League II can portray." But brutality and a few celebrity voiceovers aren’t the only things present in Blitz II. Off-the-field antics await players, including picking up women, legal and illegal drugs, as well as partaking in less-than-reputable schemes to make extra cash. Oh yes, Blitz is not your daddy’s football game. The game is available for $59.99 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. And remember to stay tuned in with Blend Games for more news and info on the latest titles. |
