It seems that the Las Vegas Convention Center was a bit hasty in announcing that they'd be hosting next year's BlizzCon. Today they admitted that it was a goof.

The LVCC told WoW.com that they had discussed with Blizzard about BlizzCon 2010 previously but no agreement was made. Just in case, the convention center decided to hold off on scheduling anything for the two days that the next BlizzCon would occur (July 30th and 31st). However, then someone mistakenly listed the event on the LVCC website, causing all sorts of Internet-based hysteria.

Yes, an article about gaming convention scheduling mixups. Easily the least sexy thing I've written all week. Still, seemed worth noting to prevent people from prematurely booking a hotel room or plane ticket.
