Periodically someone at Blizzard sends gamers into a tizzy by stating interest in bringing Diablo to consoles. Yesterday was Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime's turn to stir the pot.
"I think you could make an argument that a game like Diablo might play very well on a console," Morhaime said at DICE yesterday. "It's something that we're actually doing an investigation into to see if that could make sense."
The original Diablo was actually ported to PSOne back in 1998. It didn't have online multiplayer, though, and save files ate up most of a memory card. Now that consoles have narrowed the technology gap and their sales potential is so high, perhaps Blizzard will give it another go.
