World of Warcraft has about 11 million subscribers worldwide. According to Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kottick, Blizzard's next MMO will appeal to an even wider swath of gamers.

Speaking at the Deutsche Bank Securities Technology Conference, Kottick said this about Blizzard's upcoming games: "What we've announced at Blizzard is that we have Starcraft [II] coming, Diablo has been in production…and a new, unannounced MMO that has a little more broad appeal."

It's possible he's not making a comparison between the new MMO and WoW He might mean that the MMO will have a broader appeal than Diablo III or StarCraft II. Even so, Diablo and StarCraft are both pretty huge franchises. Blizzard has stated in the past that the new MMO won't replace WoW so apparently they're planning to attract new players to the genre.
