Remember that old TurboGrafx-16 series starring the big-headed caveman? Hudson's revealed that they're making a new installment in the Bonk series for Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, and WiiWare.

Bonk: Brink of Extinction, coming in early 2010, follows Bonk as he journeys to the center of the Earth. It's a side-scroller like the previous games but will sport better graphics and an online co-op mode. Hudson also plans on releasing additional downloadable content for it.

As Eurogamer points out, three Bonk games have made their way to the Wii's Virtual Console service in the past. This is the first new entry in the series since the nineties, though.
