Borderlands 2 Patch Will Stop HackersAuthor: Pete Haas

Lately Borderlands 2 players on the Xbox 360 have had to cope with hackers ruining their save files. Gearbox says that they're on the verge of releasing a patch to stop these attacks.
The hack prevents you from respawning after dying. If you load another character or restart the game, your save file will be completely wiped out. Furthermore, there's no way to recover this data. Gearbox has already developed a patch to fix this issue. They've submitted it to Microsoft and are waiting for certification. No timetable was provided for its release. While 360 players wait for the patch, Gearbox suggests only playing co-op with friends in private sessions. Furthermore, they should select "Save and Quit" from the options menu when they want to stop playing while their character's still alive. If their character is dead and they get bounced to the main menu, they should select "Continue" to jump back into that character's game. Gearbox and Xbox Live's enforcement staff would obviously like to get their hands on the hackers, too. If you see any suspicious activity, Gearbox says you should email the details to spotted@gearboxsoftware.com. Back to top
