Borderlands 2 And Soul Sacrifice Delta On Vita, Minecraft and Serious Sam On PS3 This Week
Both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 are getting a double dose of content this week with Borderlands 2 and Soul Sacrifice Delta coming to the former and Minecraft and Serious Sam 3 coming to the latter. Whether you like building or destroying things, this week’s new games should have something to pique your interest.
For those of you who are confused to see Borderlands 2 appearing on the list of new PlayStation games for a second week in a row, that’s because, as of last week, the only way to get the game was to grab one of those new bundles featuring the slim version of the Vita. This week, Borderlands 2 launches by its onesie on the portable console as both a digital and retail game.
Those of you who have played a Borderlands game before, you should know exactly what to expect here: Massive areas to explore, a ridiculous number of baddies to shoot and about a bajillion guns to collect, upgrade and fall in love with until you find something better. Just about the entire Borderlands 2 experience is included in this Vita package, including several of the DLC chapters. If you’re looking for a shooter on the go, you now know exactly where to turn.
Also arriving on the Vita this week is the updated version of the not-all-that-old hunting game, Soul Sacrifice Delta. For players of the original game, your save file can transfer directly over into this latest version. Aside from all of the content from the original game, this version of Soul Sacrifice also includes new areas to explore, new monsters to hunt, new items and abilities and more. If you’re still playing Soul Sacrifice, you’ll likely want to upgrade for all of the new content. If you’ve missed out up until now, this might be a good time to jump in and start sacrificing your friends for even more power.
The PlayStation 3 is also double dipping on content this week with a couple of blasts from the pasts that are at least new on this particular console.
First up is Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition. While a digital version of the game is already up for grabs, a retail version is finally launching this week, giving those who prefer to line their shelves with physical copies of games a chance to jump into a massive, blocky world, fight off Creepers and build whatever their little heart desires.
Also hitting the PS3 this week is Serious Sam 3: BFE.
“Return to the golden age of first-person shooters with Serious Sam 3: BFE,” reads the official launch announcement. “With no cover to hide behind, devastate enemies with a jaw-dropping arsenal, bone-crunching melee attacks and potent explosives.”
All of that, along with the weekly dose of demos, videos and DLC, will hit Sony consoles this Tuesday afternoon.
