One of the common gripes about downloadable content is that it doesn't give enough extra gameplay for its cost. Gearbox Software claims this isn't the case with The Zombie Island Of Doctor Ned, the first DLC for Borderlands.
"We think of it about the same size as one of the smaller zones in the main game. It's probably four to six hours of new gameplay with a lot of new regions, new monsters, that kind of thing," said Borderlands design director Paul Helquist in an interview MTV Multiplayer. "It's probably about the size of the Arid Badlands [the starting zone] and one or two of the doglegs."
The new content is designed for characters level 10 and higher. The enemies within the new zone, Jakobs Island, will scale according to your exact level. "As soon as you enter the download content, it detects what level you are and sets the area to about the same level of what you're at."
Zombie arrives on November 24th and will cost $10 (800 MS points).
