Brink Getting Clans And Tournaments Soon
Splash Damage is hard at work on an update for their multiplayer shooter Brink. The update, said to be in its final stages of testing, will add a number of social and competitive features to the game.
Once the patch goes live, you'll be able to create and manage a Brink clan through the game's official website. At the clan's dedicated page, you'll be able to check its ranking, wins and loses and upcoming schedule. You can also make personnel moves such as inviting players or changing members' privileges.
The new Global Clan Ladder will display all of the clans in Brink according to their ranking. This will allow clans to find opponents with comparable skill. You can then issue a challenge and schedule a clan match. Invites will be sent out to all participants.
Event Ladders are custom clan tournaments run by Splash Damage. They might feature smaller team sizes or specific maps. You can sign up your clan for these competitions through the site. Trophies will be doled out to winning clans and will appear on the clan's page.
To take an advantage of these new features, you'll need to make an account on Brink's website. Then, you'll need to link it your game account using the access code listed in the Online Stats section of the game's main menu.
Splash Damage has a few other changes for Brink up their sleeve. They plan to release them alongside these new social features. More details will be provided at a later date.
