Call Of Duty: Ghosts Leads The Charge For PlayStation Network Weekly Releases
Games, games and more games. As the holiday shopping window continues to open up nice and wide, more and more titles are making their way to market just in time to make it onto everybody's Christmas list. And there's no question as to which new offering this week will be hogging the vast majority of the limelight on the PlayStation Network. A bunch of games may be coming out, but all of that other content will rest in the shadow of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
It's hard to believe, especially since Battlefield 4 came out just seven days ago, but Call of Duty: Ghosts has finally arrived. For those of you who have no intention of waiting the extra week or two to play the world's biggest FPS on next gen consoles, or perhaps you're planning on upgrading to the newer model once it arrives on the showroom floor, Tuesday is the date to once again answer the call of duty.
We announced earlier this morning that Ghosts features a campaign that's barely over five hours in length. But, let's face it, that's probably going to be a tightly controlled, explosive five hours of gameplay. And, more importantly, Call of Duty is all about the multiplayer these days. At this point, I don't know why they don't just beef up the multiplayer a bit more and release it as a standalone game sans any sort of single player campaign. Either way, Call of Duty: Ghosts drops this week, and it'll likely sell like gangbusters well into 2014. Also, if you decide to buy digital on the PS3, you can go ahead and pre-load the game so it'll be ready for play first thing this evening at midnight.
For those of you who have no intentions of pulling on a decorative balaclava and taking out terrorists, this week's other offerings on The Drop for PlayStation Network are numerous and varied. Fans of old school action adventures might want to check out the adorable PlayStation 2 Classic, The Adventures of Cookie and Cream. A-men 2 will offer tacticul, squad-based puzzle solving as a cross-buy title for the PS3 and Vita, whle Ben 10 Omniverse 2 for the PS3 continues the legend of the shape-shifting hero in a brand new alien-infused adventure based on the television show baring the same name.
The stategic, physics-based battle game, CastleStorm also arrives on the PS3 and Vita this week, with zombie-slaying multiplayer action game, Final Exam slicing and dicing the undead on the home console.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection arrives this week, too, offering the original Lords of Shadow, both of its DLC chapters, a copy of Mirror of Fate HD, as well as a demo for Lords of Shadow 2.
The Guided Fate Paradox will paradoxically guide your fate in a brand new roguelike dungeon crawler for the PS3 while How to Survive tasks players with fighting their way through the zombie appocalypse and patching together a new civilization in How to Survive for the same console.
Look for all of this, along with the regular dose of DLC, demos, videos and more, to arrive on the PlayStation Network once its regular weekly update goes live Tuesday afternoon.
