It’s been a chart topping week for Infinity Ward and their little Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare game. First it was announced that the title took top honors on Xbox LIVE, ousting the long running Halo 3 from the top spot. Today Activision announced that, according to NPD numbers, Call of Duty 4 was the top selling game of 2007, selling more than seven million units worldwide.

"We're very excited about this achievement especially given so many competitive titles this year," said Will Kassoy, senior vice president, global brand management, Activision Publishing in a press release. "Consumer and critics agree that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the best games ever created and further establishes Call of Duty as one of the premier brands in the industry.”
