Remember how I mentioned in yesterday’s April Fools Day article how the COD4 maps were being delayed? Turns out that I was playing a jokey joke (to borrow a phrase from that bastion of comic genius, Dane Cock) and they will be out this week. At least, that’s the buzz around the internet. And so far in life I’ve never been steered wrong by two things: the internet, and a hobo in search of his bindle.

Infinity Ward’s ambassador to the masses, fourzerotwo, posted on his blog today that we will in fact see the maps this week. ”For those of you asking when you should take off work, I’d take off Friday.” Lucky for me I don’t have the whole “go to a job and have a purpose for living” to weigh me down, so I’ll be free and able to participate in the madness. Not that I’m bragging. I don’t have the enormous powers of Ross Miller over at Joystiq, who can blog and play video games at the same time. It’s not quite as impressive as playing Gears of War with one hand, and Splinter Cell with the other…but it’s damn close.

So there you go. We should have our new Call of Duty 4 maps in the next day or two.
