Call Of Duty 4 Wins An AwardAuthor: Steve West

BioShock may have nabbed 11 nominations and 5 wins at the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences’ 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, but it was Call of Duty 4 that took the top honors. The awards were presented at the event in Las Vegas right along with the D.I.C.E. summit.
The full list of award winners can be seen here. There aren’t too many surprises. Portal walked away with a few wins including Outstanding Character Performance from Glados. BioShock got some art design awards, and Assassin’s Creed managed to squeeze out an animation award. Super Mario Galaxy somehow won for best “action” game, which is odd because Nintendo’s premiere 2007 title was not an action game. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of awards and the ceremonies that go along with them. It seems like every day we’re deluged with more news of awards. Maybe they should just wait until all of the awards are out and then do a simple count to determine who has more trophies, BioShock or Call of Duty 4. |
