You really didn't think Activision would let the holidays go by without dropping another Call of Duty game on us, did you? Well, they're not. Call of Duty's going modern again and it's coming by the end of 2009.

During its fourth quarter earnings call, Activision announced that the game would arrive during the "holiday season" of this year. Like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 will also be developed by Infinity Ward.

Modern Warfare 2 is set during the modern day and features soldiers conducting...warfare, with lots of weapons and such. Alright, you caught us - no details have been released yet. Obviously it's something you should keep your eyes peeled for, though.
