Call of Duty: World At War Beta Launches For Xbox 360 It was the news that upset PS3 gamers, excited Xbox 360 gamers and gave PC gamers another reason to brush up on their keyboard and mousing skills. That’s right, Call of Duty: World at War’s official beta has begun for the Xbox 360, with a Windows PC beta to follow shortly. I’m not sure why PS3 gamers were left out of this one, but maybe they get something special in the final version.

According to the press release, gamers will be able to play as U.S. Marines, German Wehrmacht, Japanese Imperial Army and Russian Red Army factions in a variety of game types (Team Death Match, Free-For-All, Capture the Flag and War), across three different maps. The maps that will be available in the beta include:

§ Castle: The Imperial Japanese Army faces off against the Marine Raiders in a daytime battle, located on the grounds of an ancient, Japanese castle.

§ Makin: The U.S. Marine Raiders square off against the Imperial Japanese Army in a nighttime fight, set in an outpost on the Makin Atoll in the Pacific.

§ Roundhouse: The Wehrmact will fight the Red Army to the bitter end in a daytime struggle that features tank and infantry combat, set in a desolate, war-torn European train depot.

If you would like to participate in the beta, you can receive a token by visiting Gamestop to pre-order the game, or pre-order the game online by visiting the Gamestop Website.

The full game will be available on November 11th for the (beta absent) PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. You can visit the Official Call of Duty Website for more information or stay tuned in with Blend Games for more news and info regarding the latest games.

I know that some developers stated that Sony did not have a way to run a Beta. Well this proving to be False. Sony has recently run Beta for LBP, SOCOM, RFOM and KillZone 2.

I am sure that the problem is that the developers have to setup their own servers for PSN and they don't want to go through the hassle of setting up two different Environments. Where as for Xbox Live, Microsoft will do all of the work.

Some will say that this is a plus for Xbox Live but I don't care because I get to play online for FREE. Since COD4 ran great on line for the PS3, I have faith that it will again with COD5. And if it doesn't I'll blame Treyarch.

Just another reason why Xbox rocks and PS3 is losing their hype, basically if you want to get the newest games before the playstation has them go Xbox, this is why Final Fantasy will bring in a ton of Japenese players to the market and i love it, ive been hearing how playstation has been better for years, well its all hype and we saw that with 360 vs PS3, sorry its just a better system and has more options and better games SOCOM games are watered down Call of Duty games.
