It’s summer time. That time of year when you get to go outside and grill up some lamb, bask in the sun and enjoy family fun time. It’s also a good time to get in on some video game beta action. Or as they’ve come to be known: glorified demos. Capcom has announced that starting June 25th fans will be able to start participating in the Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta. As far as I can remember this is the first public beta of an Xbox 360 Arcade or PSN title.
Anyone who purchased Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 from Xbox LIVE Arcade will be allowed access to the beta. This means we may see a surge of sales for that particular game…smooth move Capcom. The beta itself will consist of only Ken and Ryu on a single stage, and it’ll run for eight weeks. Now I’ve seen the rabid Street Fighter fans and I just can’t see how they’ll miss anything within the first day. We’ll know before I’ve finished downloading the beta if every frame is accounted for. PS3 owners will not be in on the beta, but the glitches and bugs found by 360 owners will be fixed for all versions. |
