A week after Street Fighter IV was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, Capcom revealed that PC owners could expect the game in the summer. However, they're keeping their cards closer to their chest with Resident Evil 5. They still won't confirm whether a PC release is planned.
"Sorry guys, no news to share at this time," said Capcom VP Christian Svensson in a response to PC gamers' queries on the Capcom forums. Well, it's a lot more promising than an outright "no" but it's still pretty far from a "yes." It sounds like they're A) still debating it or B) already decided to do it but are holding off on the announcement. Svensson said in an interview earlier in the month that the PC was a "ubiquitous" and "global" platform. He also mentioned that the PC offered greater opportunities for them now that other developers were shying away from it. Even if they don't ultimately make RE5 for the PC, it sounds like they're at least giving some serious thought to the idea. |
