Capcom's holding a party on Thursday night to celebrate Resident Evil 5's North American release but that's not the only game they'll be showing off. Capcom will also be unveiling new projects at the event.

In describing the launch party, the Capcom blog mentions that "there will be new game announcements, stage shows, and Resident Evil activities all through out the night." You could pick apart the phrase "new game announcements" in a couple different ways - it could be announcements of new games or just new announcements about games that have already been revealed. We'll probably see a bit of both, honestly. Lost Planet 2 was announced only a couple weeks back so it's likely Capcom will toss out a few details about that.

In terms of previously unannounced games, though, who knows? It could just be another Xbox Live Arcade/Playstation Network title like Flock but you know they'll eventually churn out another Devil May Cry game too.

The Resident Evil 5 launch party will begin at Union Square in San Francisco at 8 PM. Party attendees will be able to pick up copies of the game when the clock strikes midnight if they pre-purchase at the Powell Street Gamestop. For exact details on the event, check out Capcom's blog.
