Just about every other big-name guitarists has been featured in a Guitar Hero game, so why not the supernatural Santana? Well, Activision has announced that the grooving guitarist and his one-of-kind playing style and songs will be featured in the next Guitar Hero game.

According to the press release…

“We’re thrilled to showcase one of the top guitarists of all time in Guitar Hero 5 and offer fans the opportunity to experience Carlos Santana’s signature sounds and iconic likeness first-hand,” said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Guitar Hero. “His accomplished career and breadth of musical style are a great illustration of the variety of rock experiences we have included in the game and we are excited to announce him as the first of five playable in-game artists.”

That’s actually pretty cool being able to play as the legendary rocker. Not to mention his guitar skills and playing sound is unrivaled in the business. Nevertheless, for you gamers who prefer the poetic sounds of Bob Dylan, the simple yet deep melodies of The White Stripes or if the old-school tunes of Tom Petty is more to your liking then there are no worries because they’re all featured in the game.

Added to this, Guitar Hero 5 will allow gamers to mix and match their preferred method of gameplay that will include the option of using any of the instrument-based controllers throughout the entire game. Alternatively, gamers can party up and play together in multiple party modes.
