Celebrate James Bond Day By Watching 007 Legends Opening Cinematic
Today, if you're not aware, is Global James Bond Day. Fifty years ago today, the first film Dr. No was released in theaters. To celebrate a half-century of Bond, Activision released the opening cinematic video from their upcoming shooter 007 Legends.
Legends itself is a 50-year tribute to Bond. It has a single-player campaign with missions inspired by five films: Goldfinger, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Moonraker, Licence to Kill and Die Another Day. Each mission/film is taken from a different Bond era. A sixth mission, based on the upcoming film Skyfall, will be released as post-launch DLC.
The intro video for the game is styled after the opening sequences from the films. References to each of the films featured in the game are seeded throughout. For example, we get a glimpse at the gold paint-covered woman from Goldfinger and the snowy tundra of Iceland in Die Another Day.
007 Legends will launch on October 16th in North America and on the 19th in Europe.
