Cryptic Studios' Champions Online is now live in North America. The super hero MMORPG will arrive in Europe on September 4th.

Based off the pen-and-paper role-playing game Champions, Champions Online allows you to design your own super hero. You'll choose your hero's appearance and powers from a long, long list of options. Eventually you'll create your own arch-nemesis as well with the same character creation tools.

Cryptic decided to make Champions after their original project, a Marvel MMO for the Xbox 360 and PC, was cancelled. Champions is currently only available for the PC but it could be released on consoles eventually.
