PSOne classic Chrono Cross was included in today's update of the PlayStation Store. Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger, is the first game in a series of Square Enix titles that will be released through PSN this winter.
In Chrono Cross, players take on the role of a young man named Serge. Serge accidentally travels to an alternate reality where he died as a young child. Along with a thief named Kid, he searches for an artifact known as the Frozen Flame in order to set things right. The plot has links to Trigger but most of the characters and storylines are brand new.
As part of their "Winter of RPGs" campaign, Square Enix will re-release two additional games soon as well. On November 22nd, Final Fantasy V will make its PSN debut. Final Fantasy VI will arrive on December 6th. It's going to be an expensive month for the nostalgic gamer.
A list of all the other PSN updates for today can be found over at PlayStation.Blog.
