Circuit City To Close Remaining Stores

There's now one less place for you to do your game shopping. Circuit City, the nation’s second-biggest consumer electronics retailer, revealed on Friday that it's moving to shutter its remaining 567 stores.

"We are extremely disappointed by this outcome," said acting Circuit City CEO James Marcum in a statement. "We were unable to reach an agreement with our creditors and lenders to structure a going-concern transaction in the limited timeframe available, and so this is the only possible path for our company."

George Whalin, president and CEO of Retail Management Consultants, told CNNMoney that there's a chance that another company could buy it out of bankruptcy in the coming days but it's not likely. Circuit City employs an estimated 30,000 employees. The company previously closed 155 stores in November and December of last year.

Blend Games' crack team of business experts have concluded that this blows. Best of luck to all of those who may lose their jobs in this latest episode of "That's My Flailing Economy!"
