All right, let’s set the records straight: Citizen Zero is not vapor ware. This game has been in development for a very long time–and it’s still in development. In a brief discussion last year, the CEO of Micro-Forte revealed that Citizen Zero is still in development and is steadily coming along for next-gen platforms.
Micro-Forte is a company that has more than just a mind-bending MMO engine under their bracket. The company has been working their butt off on a next-generation MMO, for what seems like forever. A lot of people are easily under the impression that the game’s development has been halted. However, In a preview of Citizen Zero John De Margheriti, the CEO of Micro-Forte, revealed last year that “progress on the game is moving very slowly.”, but John admitted that the game was more than 60% complete, and that it was being overhauled “...for next-gen consoles and platforms”. Micro-Forte continues to out-source and licence their Big World technology, and that–mind you–could prove to be a pace halting aspect for the development of Citizen Zero. Not only that, John De Margheriti acknowledged that financing plays a heavy part in getting the game finished. So what does that mean for Citizen Zero? Well, with Big World’s MMO technology gaining momentum throughout 2007, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Citizen Zero make an appearance sometime before the fourth quarter of 2008...alongside a dozen other highly-ambitious titles that have been perpetually delayed. |
