Not long after the Command & Conquer 4's announcement, Electronic Arts has released the first trailer. Those of you looking for gameplay footage will be disappointed but when's the last time a game's first trailer hasn't disappointed you in some fashion?

This could very well be the opening cinematic to the game. In C&C4, humanity is on the verge of extinction due to the mysterious substance known as Tiberium that now blankets the Earth. Brotherhood of Nod leader Kane heads to the headquarters of the Global Defensive Initiative, the faction he's warred against for years, in order to make a proposition. A proposition involving a big glowing ball, no less.

C&C4 will be released in 2010 for the PC. There are currently no plans to bring the game to consoles.
