North America will not be deprived of the WiiWare installment of Contra after all. Contra ReBirth is listed in the latest batch of ratings from the ESRB.

They gave ReBirth an "Everyone 10+" rating, in case you're wondering. The game is made in the style of older Contra games, with 2D graphics, two-player coop and lots of aliens just begging to get shot. It's not clear whether the old "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start" trick will work, though.

ReBirth was released in Japan in May. It's expected to arrive in Europe this August. Now that the ESRB has spoiled Konami's surprise, one would expect to hear a North American release date soon enough.
