Crackdown On Crime: Ruffian Agent No. 7

published: 2006-12-04 00:00:00
It’s the second to last Agent in this eight part look at Crackdown’s brutish cops. Following in the trendy use of Norse mythology and archaic archetypes in video games, RealTime Worlds based their Norse Agent on everything that would make him look like he’s been kicking butt for thousands of years.

From hopping out of cars in mid-air and blowing them up as they make impact with a house – to hurling an enemy convoy over a building – Crackdown is the ultimate playground for destructive law enforcers. For instance, gamers who relish in the skills required to snipe from nearly two blocks away, or gamers who have a serious addiction to explosive weaponry, can finally find solace in Crackdown’s armory. From pistols, sub-machine guns, heavy assault rifles, sniper rifles, and a huge variance of explosive munitions, Crackdown is the game to satisfy any gun-hungry player.

This comic-book inspired title, exclusive for the Xbox 360, will allow players to upgrade their gunning skills to the point where nearly everything explodes, or the Agent’s aim is nearly perfect. Since each aspect of the Agent’s abilities can be maxed out in such an over-the-top manner, players can perform unbelievable super-human feats once they reach their Agent to level 5. Whether it’s shooting down twenty gang-members at once, or sniping gang leaders from unfathomable distances, Crackdown is the game that breaks the mold in standard law enforcement weaponry.

As for our Norse friend, he’s rather eerie looking in a historical way. The Norse heritage does seem to shine through, but not regarding Valhalla garb, or man-skirts. Instead, this Norse Agent carries more of the facial features and semblance to someone of an older era. Yet he manages to retain the hard-edge that every other Crackdown Agent displays. You can check out RealTime World’s bio of the Norse Agent and some screenshots below.

Norse Agent: We couldn’t really do the classic Norse, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, braided-hair model, so we came up with a single braid going over the top of the head and added some interesting blue face paint in lieu of tattoos.
