Crysis Engine On Consoles Next Month...Port Coming Soon?

Crytek, developer of Crysis and Far Cry, will be showing a closed room demo of the CryEngine 2 at this year’s Game Developers Conference. This showing of the developer’s proprietary tech, which nearly melted the face of PC manufacturers everywhere last fall, will be showcased on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

A select group of GDC attendees will be able to see the engine running on the consoles. This leads us to wonder if Crysis will be making it’s way to the PS3 and/or 360 in the near future. Crytek has no problem with console gaming, and has never ruled out a console port. While this is a tech demo, and means nothing in the official world of reality, we can’t help but wonder what Fall 2008 will bring us.

For the general public there will be a demo showing off Crysis on a $600 PC. And they claim it is fully optimized.
