Crysis Wars, the multiplayer component of Crysis Warhead, can now be played for free. EA and Crytek are offering a week of free play to all gamers.

The free trial runs from today until Friday, April 17th. It allows you access to all of Crysis Wars content, which includes three multiplayer modes and 23 maps. You'll be able to access user-created maps (made with the game's editor tool) as well. To participate in the trial, download Wars from MyCrysis.com and then register to receive a CD key.

Why the free weekend? Well, obviously they want to sell a few more copies of the game. They also want to promote the upcoming release of Crysis Maximum Edition. Maximum Edition is a $40 bundle that includes Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis Wars. Before downloading or buying anything, be sure to check the system requirements, though.
