Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming super hero MMORPG DC Universe Online needs a lot more gamma radiation or injections with Chemical X before it's ready. The game will launch late next year at the earliest.

"It launches I think in early 2010, it could be late 2009," said Geoff Johns, the DC comics writer crafting the game's storyline, in an interview with MTV.

DC Universe Online allows players to create their own super heroes and villains and rub elbows with a wide range of characters from DC Comics like Wonder Woman or Batman. Whenever it's actually released, it'll hit PS3 and PC. You can check out some screenshots of the game here.
