Yesterday we brought you four new gameplay trailers of Left 4 Dead 2 in our Media Blowout, and today we bring you a few new trailers of the recently released time-traveling action game for PC and Xbox 360, Darkest of Days, as seen on GameTrailers.

Phantom’s first-person shooter looks remarkably good in the new launch trailer, which is part of the media blowout for this game. This time-traveling sci-fi shooter sees gamers venturing through time trying to prevent catastrophic events from taking place as historic periods are trying to be reshaped by a mysterious force. It’s one of those epic stories that take place on an epic scale.

We rarely get games that scale the likes of the Civil War or World War I, heck this game not only goes there but it also sees players venturing to Pompeii, World War II and even wielding Colts from the Wild West. As I said, it’s epic.

Despite the cheesy voice-acting, the game has some awesome scope to its story and the sci-fi themes and technological aesthetic strangely remind me of Richard Kelley’s Southland Tales fused with James Cameron’s vision of Terminator. Not a bad combo for a shooter game, anyway.
