Less than two months after Darksiders' release, developer Vigil Games is already at work on the sequel. A sound designer at the company has revealed that Darksiders 2 is now in its early planning stages.
"Currently thankful and stoked to be working on Warhammer 40k MMO, and preproduction on Darksiders 2," says Pedro Seminario in his LinkedIn profile. Seminario worked as a Sound Designer for Darksiders as well, so it would be logical that he'd be among the small crew of people putting together a blueprint for the game's follow-up. In a conference call earlier this month, publisher THQ said they expected Darksiders 2 to be released in the 2012 fiscal year, which begins on April 1st, 2011. The Warhammer 40K MMO mentioned by Seminario is scheduled for 2012 as well. Looks like the next year's going to be a busy one for Vigil. If you haven't picked up the first Darksiders yet, note that a demo will be released tomorrow. The 90-minute taster lets you play an entire dungeon from the full game.
