Darkspore Beta Sign-Ups Begin

If you're looking to play EA's new twist on the Spore franchise, you won't have to wait until it hits stores in February. EA has opened up sign-ups for Darkspore's beta.

While Spore was more of a sim/strategy, Darkspore is an action RPG. The mutant Darkspore have taken over the galaxy and it falls to the player (and three friends) to battle them on various planets. You will be able to create custom heroes using a modified version of the Spore Creature Creator.
