Legendary game developer, and quotable fellow extraordinaire, David Jaffe is giving the keynote for the Game Career Seminar at GDC this year. The seminar is produced by GDC and GameCareerGuide.com to teach those interested in getting in the video game industry. Jaffe is supposed to give a realistic view of what it took to get to where he is now. And uh…I hope those in attendance are prepared for that.

If you’re smart enough to seriously contemplate being in video game design, then I’m sure you can spot a joke. But just in case, if Jaffe says that the only thing Master Chief is good for is opening bottles of beer then just know that it’s a joke. The dude is a mass of metal. He’d break the bottle before it ever opened, and that’s good for no one. People need to relax and not take everything so seriously, especially banana peel spitting karts.

Jaffe will detail his trials and tribulations during development of his most popular franchises Twisted Metal and God of War. He’ll share insight on dealing with the development cycle, and also what went into moving from a big time studio to his new independent venture. Jaffe always has something to say, and if you’re interested in the industry he’s the man that’ll tell you the truth.
