The upcoming real-time strategy Warhammer 40,000K: Dawn of War 2 went gold on Monday but apparently Relic didn't fit everything onto the game disc that they wanted. Mere days after the games hits stores, they're planning on releasing downloadable content.

On the Dawn of War 2 community website, Dawn of War II Producer Mark Noseworthy announced that within a week of the game's launch, they will be releasing two multiplayer maps for download. Also, a patch will be released on the game's release date to add improvements based on feedback from the multiplayer beta. The beta begins on January 21st for those who bought the Soulstorm expansion for the original Dawn of War and January 28th for everyone else.

Noseworthy also described their post-launch plans for the game: "We are extremely interested in working with Microsoft to offer several types of free and premium downloadable content through their Games for Windows - LIVE Marketplace. In fact, there may even be some DLC available during the first few weeks after the game’s released if everything goes to plan."

Dawn of War II will be released for the PC on February 19th.
