Dawn Of War II Beats Lich King Again

In its first week, Dawn of War II managed to take the PC sales crown from the World of Warcraft expansion Wrath of the Lich King. One would've expected Lich King to retake the top spot the following week now that the die-hard fans of Dawn have bought their copies but it seems that scrappy little real-time strategy game's got legs.

Here are the US PC sales for the week of February 22-28, released by NPD this morning (via Shacknews):

  1. Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II / Relic
  2. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King / Blizzard
  3. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe / EA Maxis
  4. The Sims 2 Deluxe / EA Maxis
  5. World Of Warcraft / Blizzard
  6. World Of Warcraft Battle Chest / Blizzard
  7. Spore / EA Maxis
  8. The Sims Carnival: SnapCity / Electronic Arts
  9. The Sims 2 Apartment Life Exp. Pack / EA Maxis
  10. World Of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade / Blizzard

So there - it is possible for a non-Blizzard PC game without the word "Sim" in it to sell well. Empire: Total War debuted last week so I'm interested to see where it'll land on this list. Could Lich King drop to - gasp - third?
