Dead Space: Extraction Screenshots: Moments Of Violence

The PS3/PC/Xbox 360 survival horror game Dead Space forced players to strategically dismember bloodthirsty Necromorphs. The standalone Wii game Dead Space: Extraction aspires to be just as violent.

You might not be stomping baddies into a pulp in Extraction but the new screenshots from EA show limbs flying and blood spurting. Necromorphs are more vulnerable to extremity damage so you'll want to aim for their arms and legs to take them down. The development team's done a good job of maintaining the Dead Space artistic style.

Extraction is being penned by the same author who wrote the prequel comics and the PS3/360/PC game so the story-telling style will be maintained as well. Considering MadWorld's disappointing sales, though, it remains to be seen whether there's a market for this type of game on the Wii. We'll see how it shakes out when the game hits shelves next fall.
